Synthetic Pitch Maintenance

REPLAY REVIVE® process
The REPLAY REVIVE® process extends the life of a synthetic sports pitch and minimises the risk of injury to players by improving grip and reducing compaction.
REVIVE® maintenance uses a specially developed single operator machine to remove contaminants from in-filled carpets, water-based carpets and polymeric surfaces. The specialist machinery we operate decompacts and rotates the contaminated infill whereupon a series of filters and vacuums separate the clean infill from the fine particles of dust, debris and broken down carpet fibre. The cleaned infill is then regraded and dressed back into the surface resulting in improved performance and player experience.  The result is reduced compaction, enhanced porosity and improved playing characteristics.  It is offered as part of a proactive Replay Service Agreement (recommended) – regular, planned maintenance massively reduces repair and replacement costs by keeping surfaces in excellent condition.
REPLAY REVIVE® PLUS+ has been specifically developed as a reactionary one-off maintenance process, ideally carried out in warm weather and on a dry surface. This deep clean has the primary objective of separating the contamination from the clean infill and removing compaction.

“…everything with Replay has been smooth and professional and we have no complaints with the services they have provided…”

Trevor Fox, The Sheffield College.

Water Based Pitch & Athletic Track Cleaning

Athletics track cleaned

Pitch & Court cleaning

AQUATRAX® is a unique process, combining pressure washing and vacuum extraction. It was first developed to remove accumulated contamination during the maintenance of polymeric athletics tracks but has since been adapted to clean dirt and algal growth from unfilled or water-based hockey surfaces.
The machine applies pressure water jets to dislodge the dirt. A vacuum extraction system then removes the dirty water to a tank on the machine so that contaminants are not returned to the surface.
AQUATRAX® has now cleaned over 4 million square metres of tracks and water-based pitches.

“Without this amazing machine we would not have managed. Even the worst areas cleaned up perfectly, great job!”

Joe Hoekstra, Mondo (official track supplier to London 2012)

AquaCourt

Designed for use on hard court areas and now adapted to clean non infill systems, the Replay AquaCourt process uses a bespoke high-volume, multi-nozzle pressure washer system to lift and remove contaminants.
Firstly, the unit cleans in multiple directions to lift and soften any silt, algae and moss from the grain of the surface. Following this, the whole surface is then cleaned using a combination of oscillating lances and flat fan high pressure spray system to turbo wash and ensure all contamination is effectively removed.

Air Rejuvenation at its Best

REPLAY REJUVENATION® process

Tennis Court Rejuvenation

Our REPLAY REJUVENATION® process can restore compacted and contaminated synthetic football, rugby, hockey and tennis surfaces to ‘as new’ performance and appearance. This unique constant air-flow plenum technology uses compressed air to remove the contaminated top layer of sand; restore the pile to vertical and filled again with new clean infill.  The process can extract the infill to any chosen depth, including removing all the infill right down to the backing. It is as effective on long-pile surfaces,  filled with any infill material.
When conducted on Tennis Courts, our REJUVENATION® process uses a smaller model of our Rejuvenation Beaver unit. As with the process for pitches, Tennis Court REJUVENATION® will remove surface debris and decompact the carpet allowing for the extraction of contaminated infill using compressed air. Restoring the court to an ‘as new’ condition for appearance, drainage and performance.
REPLAY REJUVENATION® can often double the playing life of a pitch or tennis court for less than quarter of the cost of a new carpet.

“The surfaces are playing really well since Replay came in and conducted their Rejuvenation process. The team are very professional and contact has always been easy and efficient”

Ed Ramsden, Leicester Grammar School

Cost-effective Service Agreements

REPLAY REVIVE® process

Drag Brushing

REPLAY REVIVE® process

For peace of mind, at a fixed amount, Service Agreements are the ideal way to ensure that playing surfaces benefit from regular and planned maintenance.  With Replay you also get more enhanced service levels than with any other surface maintenance company.
Our Service Agreements can be set at intervals to suit you. This allows you to see what difference the maintenance regime is making to your playing surface and enables you to plan your maintenance regime far more effectively. To get started, contact us for a free site visit.

Service Agreements can include:

  • Retexturing and Repainting
  • Line Marking
  • Supply of Maintenance Machinery

“Based on their strong reputation in the sector we took out a service agreement with Replay. It protects our investment and maintains the safety and integrity of the surfaces”

Alan Horgan, Nottingham Trent University

Passport365 portal

The Replay Reportal, powered by Passport365, is a secure online system that allows you to view all records produced by us in the course of a service agreement. Whilst we still continue to issue physical reports and audits, the Reportal allows you to view them all on-line at your leisure. This facility can also be used to provide one-to-one maintenance advice, but is only available with a Replay Maintenance Service Agreement.
A login and password is required so all documentation remains confidential, with updates to your records being advised as they happen.

Pitch Surveys

Replay are happy to carry out a free site visit to assess a pitch and compile a Facilities Survey Report (FSR).  Assessment involves utilising some specific tools, like the Depth & Free Pile Gauge, that allow us to measure some of the more important performance properties of the surface.  All this information is logged in order to set an initial datum point for the pitch and includes the three important areas that can determine the quality and life expectancy of a Pitch:

√ Surface Construction

√ Surface Infill & Carpet Fibres

√ Surface Debris & Contamination

√ We also include a visual check of the ancillary items such as the fence, goal posts, access etc.

We document all of this on our free, easy to follow Facility Survey Report (FSR) – stored online on the password protected ‘Replay Passport365 portal’ for clients to view.  From the FSR we can specifically tailor our advice and recommendations. If the facility engages our services to carry out the maintenance recommendations the FSR is carried out on an annual basis.  Doing this allows comparison of the pitch’s performance properties against the initial datum point and forms the basis of ongoing maintenance.

Effective from the 2014/15 The FA changed the standard code of rules regarding the use of 3G FTP’s.  A football turf pitch (FTP) must be tested and appear on The FA Register if it is to be allowed to be used for match play in all competitions outside the National League System (NLS).  Replay can help facilities achieve inclusion on The FA Register by carrying out a free site visit and advising on the maintenance needed.  Maintaining inclusion on The FA Register will be down to the facility if Replay is not engaged with a service agreement. To read why you need FA Testing please click here.

“Replay have been great, we would have not been placed on the FA approved register without them. The team are always very helpful, very conscientious and as a contractor they are one of the nicest I’ve had the pleasure of working with.”

Dave Ludley, Braunton Academy
